Ganesha festival is very special for all maharashtrian people.I always start from cleaning my house to preparing modak, decorating Ganesha’s place. Now my kids are also little grown up to understand that special guest is coming to their house. They sing aarti so enthusiastically and learn Ganapati Atharvashirsh. They like to distribute Prasad and each time fight also for who will give Prasad to neighbor and friends. We can feel the devine and enlighting atmosphere in these 10 days.
For me, this year Ganesha is more special, as I participated in dance and fashion show activity in Magarpatta city Ganesha Festival.I really enjoyed this time ,as I was participating after so many years. My kids are enjoying seeing their Mumma on stage and hubby whistling 😉
Like every year, I have prepared fried modak, but could not get time to make Ukadiche modak.I have thought of making some different type of modak and made Kaju Gulkand Modak.I have planned Kaju Gulkand modak for evening aarti. These modaks are made in Modak moulds just like I made Khawa/Mava Modak. That was Sunday, so had plenty of time to make it.So prepared in the morning time and kept in airtight container. At the time of Aarti, I went to get the modak and surprised to see it is empty.Suddenly looked at kids and they were laughing 😉
So, Ganapati has to eat Khirapat/Panchkhadya that day 😉
I have participated in online modak competition of Gourmet club and with Lord Ganesha’s Grace, I have won first prize for Kaju Gulkand Modak.Three months before I have enrolled myself into Gourmet club as my interest aligned with their motives.Gourmet club is born last year with ladies who have interest in cooking, baking ,learning new recipes from professional, sharing tips and many more interesting facts about kitchen.I am very happy to get award from Gourmet club and appreciating their efforts to create such a wonderful club.
