Rava Mawa Ladoo


Celebration of Diwali means lots of mithai,lights,bright colors,new dresses and fireworks. Ladoo , is very special and dear to everybody in Diwali.We love to have every kind of Ladoo like Besan Ladoo,Rava Ladoo,Dates and nuts Ladoo,Mava Ladoo,Rava Coconut Ladoo,Peanut Ladoo,Dink Ladoo,Til ke Ladoo and many more.These Ladoos are always accompanied with namkins like shev,chivada,chakali,shankarpale 😉

We used to make these every Diwali and love to give them to our friends ,relatives,colleagues.I like to prepare something different and want to experiment new in my lazy kitchen. My husband is asking for Ladoo and my list of Diwali already has Rava Ladoo , to just give little twist and I bought Khoya /mawa from my favourite chitale shop.Now, I am making Rava Mawa Ladoo.

Suji is also special ingredient when it comes to make festival sweets like Rava Ladoo,Rava Sheera and Rava Kheer. Rava Sheera is always made on Satyanarayan Puja day as Prasad.

Last Diwali also, I made Gulab Jamun from Khoya and paneer, this time also I am using Khoya…..Looks like very healthy Diwali is coming , yummmm!!!

My children keeps waiting when I will roll those Ladoos and put it in their mouth.Even my older son starts asking more Ladoos for his friends.He is growing big , because he has already started asking Diwali party…..hmmm..I have to keep watch..;-)

My mom used to make this and I always love eating all this stuff in Diwali Holidays.Now its my turn to cook and give these Diwali delicacies to my children.

Best thing while making Ladoos is filling the home with beautiful aroma.No fragrance can beat this aroma in our home.Make any Ladoos, roasting floor,nuts,besan or suji, in a ghee gives very nice fragrance to the home.Even whole neighbours will come to know what are you preparing.

This Diwali I am making Rava Mawa Ladoo/ Suji Khoya Ladoo. Adding khoya or mawa to these ladoos give very soft texture and healthiness to my kids.

Rava Mawa Ladoo

Rava Mawa Ladoo

Rava Mawa Ladoos are specially made on festivals like Diwali.While roasting Rava whole house fills with aroma and this is ow my Diwali starts.


  • 2 cup Sooji/Rava
  • 1 1/2 cup mawa/khoya
  • 1 cups ghee
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cashews
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder


  • 1.Heat ghee in kadhai /pan and roast cashew nuts and raisin until golden.Remove them from ghee and keep it aside.
  • 2.Add rava in remainig ghee and roast on slow flame till nice aroma fills the house.
  • 3.Roast rava till golden and it should not change color.Remove from heat.
  • 4.Mix the rava, ground sugar and cardamom powder together in a bowl.
  • 5.Heat the mava on low heat until soft and melted. Add to the rava mixture and mix well. Mix in the raisins and cashew nuts. Cool for a few minutes.
  • 6.Start making small ladoos from te mixture.You can mix 2 -3 tbsp milk if necessary while making ladoos.
