Sweet Corn Pulao is very simple Rice dish and kids friendly dish.Its sweet corn season and I am having fresh corn every week at my home.So my family is enjoying lots of sweet corn dishes from  my lazy kitchen.

Roasting corn cob directly on flame and rubbing spices lemon juice and salt is favorite game for my husband and kids.Apart from corn chat,classic corn,cheesy corn,Masala Corn,Sweet corn Tikki ,I wanted to make meals from corn.So I made Corn Pulao and it is very simple Rice recipe and everybody likes it.Also, we can make Sweet Corn and Tomato Biryani, which will give very nice aroma and flavor to our party menu.

Just like Jeera rice, this is very simple and have aroma of corn throughout the rice.We can add chillies to make it more spicy, but I prefer only one chili as my kids don’t like hot food.

In Sweet Corn Pulao, we can add many other vegetables like capsicum , green peas or many more.This Rice preparation does not take much time and very easy to go in lunch box.When we are bored of eating dal rice or khichdi, Peas Pulao or Corn Pulao are good option to have different taste in our meals.

We can use frozen peas or corns to make this recipe as well.Just take them out for some time to down their temperature.And then use in recipes.

Sweet Corn Pulao

Sweet Corn Pulao is very simple and tasty rice dish with nice aroma of Sweet Corn.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1/4 inch Cinnamon
  • 2-3 Cloves
  • 3-4 Whole Pepper
  • 1 Cardamom
  • 2-3 Green Chillies
  • 1-2 Bay leaf
  • 1 cup Basmati Rice
  • 1/2 cup Sweet Corn Kernels
  • 1 Big Onion,finely chopped
  • 2 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • Salt - to tastePreparation

Instructions

  • 1.Rinse basmati rice and soak it in water for at least 15-20mins.
  • 2.In a pressure cooker,heat oil,add cinnamon,cloves,pepper,cardamom,green chilies and bay leaf.
  • 3.Once it crackles,add ginger garlic paste and saute till slightly browned.
  • 4.Add onion and saute till golden brown.Then add corn and required salt.Give a quick stir.
  • 5.Drain water from soaked basmati rice and add it.Mix well and add water and pressure cook in medium low flame for 3 whistles.
  • 6.Once the steam goes away, open, add a tsp of ghee and give a quick mix.
  • Serve hot with any of your favorite curry like Paneer Butter Masala or Rajma Curry.
