Khirapat | Panchkhadya

Khirapat is also called as Panchakhadya. Khirapat is very known Prasad for Ganapati festival as we prepare it on first day and it will last till visarjan. We give Khirapat to everybody whoever is there on Riverside for visarjan.

In childhood, we all like khirapat because of its sweetness. We don’t even wait to complete Aarti and eat it so fast. It is a mixture of food things which starts from ‘kha’ like Khobra (coconut),Khas Khas(poppy seeds),Khadi sakhar(rock sugar),Kharik(dry dates), khismis(raisins).

We make fried modak using tis Khirapat as inside mixture. They taste lovely. Generally first day , we make 21 modak for ganapati and many more for family members.10 days are just like eating modak and khirapat.
