Ganapati Bappa Morya !!!

Lord Ganesh’s favorite Prasad is modak. So I am making Fried Modak on very first day of Ganapati Festival. I prepare this modak every year on the first day of Ganapati Festival and serve as Prasad of Lord Ganesh.

These are sweet and simple modak using khirapat. Khirapat is very known Prasad in Ganapati Festival. So this khirapat is only filling for Fried modak. This Fried modak taste very nice and sweet. My family is in love with modak!!!

Fried Modak | Khirapat Modak

Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  •  
  • 1/2 cup Khirapat
  • 1 cup All purpose flour (Maida)
  • 2 tbsp cup fine Rava (Sooji)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • pinch of salt
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  • Method:

  • 1. Mix Maida and rava into a bowl. Heat 2 tbsp oil in big spoon and pour over the mixture of Maida. Mix oil with the flour mixture properly with hands.

  • 2.Add little water and make a firm dough. Don't add more water and add as per the dough consistency.
  •  
  • 3.Cover the dough for 25-30 minutes.
  •  
  • 4.After 30 minutes, knead the dough again. And make equal size balls. Generally this measurement gives around 20-25 balls.

  • 5.Roll a ball in circle shape. Put 1 tbsp khirapat in center of each circle shape and collect edges with other hand together and make a shape as seen in photos.

  • 6.Make all the modak like these.
  •  
  • 7.Heat the oil. Once the oil is hot, deep fry these modak on medium heat.
  • I always offer Modak Prasad to Ganapati and then serve to all family, colleagues and friends.
