Ganapati Bappa Morya !!!
Lord Ganesh’s favorite Prasad is modak. So I am making Fried Modak on very first day of Ganapati Festival. I prepare these modak every year on first day of Ganapati Festival and serve as Prasad of Lord Ganesh.
These are sweet and simple modak using khirapat
. Khirapat is very known Prasad in Ganapati Festival. So this khirapat is only filling for Fried modak
. These Fried modak taste very nice and sweet. My family are in love with modak!!!
1/2 cup Khirapat
1 cup All purpose flour (Maida)
2 tbsp cup fine Rava (Sooji)
2 tbsp oil
pinch of salt
Oil for deep frying
1. Mix Maida and rava into a bowl. Heat 2 tbsp oil in big spoon and pour over the mixture of Maida. Mix oil with the flour mixture properly with hands.
2.Add little water and make a firm dough. Don’t add more water and add as per the dough consistency.
3.Cover the dough for 25-30 minutes.
4.After 30 minutes, knead the dough again. And make equal size balls. Generally this measurement gives around 20-25 balls.
5.Roll a ball in circle shape. Put 1 tbsp khirapat in center of each circle shape and collect edges with other hand together and make a shape as seen in photos.
6.Make all the modak like these.
7.Heat the oil. Once the oil is hot, deep fry these modak on medium heat.
I always offer Modak Prasad to Ganapati and then serve to all family, colleagues and friends.
